Moylan Announce Town Hall Meeting with Sierra Club on Wednesday, June 21st

Des Plaines, Ill. – In an effort to reach out to members of his community who are interested in environmental issues, as well as a discussion about what is to come from the Illinois clean jobs bills, state Rep. Marty Moylan, D-Des Plaines, is announcing that he will host a Town Hall Meeting with the Sierra Club on Wednesday, June 21st, from 7 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Prairie Lakes Community Center located at 515 E. Thacker Street in Des Plaines.

“As I continue to go door-to-door and meet constituents in the district, I am always looking for ways we can provide a sustainable economy while being able to preserve our environment,” Moylan said. “That is why I want to bring the Sierra Club together with local residents to talk about some of these efforts in Springfield.”

Moylan will be joined by members of the Illinois Sierra Club, the Illinois Solar Service and the Citizens Utility Board to discuss key environmental legislation, including the Future Energy Jobs Act, challenges Illinois faces with sustainability and the basics of solar energy as well as how residents can be smarter about their energy use. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in an open discussion with any of the guests.

“I am excited to see so many organizations interested in ways we can grow our economy and move towards clean energy sources,” Moylan said. “I encourage residents to come learn about the future of clean energy in Illinois, as well as what we are doing to address the lack of job creation in the state.”
