Moylan Announces Annual Community Shred Day at Juno Lighting Group

“It is vital that people are able to properly protect their personal information by shredding unneeded documents safely at my Community Shred Day event,” Moylan said. “With all the new cases of fraud and identity theft, events like this offer residents the opportunity to know they are taking the correct steps to safely protect themselves from identity thieves.”

This will be Moylan’s 5th annual Community Shred Day. There will be a truck in the parking lot that will help dispose of any documents residents would like to safely shred and recycle. Moylan will be joined by State Senator Laura Murphy, Alderman Dick Sayad and the Des Plaines Journal & Topics. Attendees will have the opportunity to watch their documents be shredded to confirm that every document containing personal material is properly shredded. Residents are allowed to bring up to two boxes per person and documents will be accepted until the shred truck is full. Moylan asks that attendees remove all paper clips, staples, and bindings from the documents.

“We need to fight to protect our community from falling victim to scams and fraudulent activity done by dishonest thieves,” Moylan said. “And this event is the best way to make sure we are taking the correct steps to prevent these documents from getting in the wrong hands.”
