Moylan Works with Illinois Treasurer to Secure Over $21,000 for University of Illinois-Chicago

“We need to invest in our higher education systems in the state to attract students to come and stay in Illinois,” Moylan said. “It is important that we continue to grow our enrollment so that we can retain a bright future and keep competitive jobs for our children here in Illinois.”

Moylan met with the Chancellor of UIC, Michael D. Amiridis, to discuss the importance to fully funding higher education for public universities. Amiridis expressed the needs of the university and future plans UIC has to further student development on the campus. Moylan voted last month to pass a life-line budget that would fund higher education in the state.

“I understand how important it is to fund our public colleges and universities, that is why I supported the life-line budget to continue to ensure these institutions receive the proper resources so they can start on schedule next school year,” Moylan said. “I know $21,000 is just a drop in the bucket for schools like UIC, but I vow to do everything I can because every little thing matters for the future of our children’s education.”
