Moylan, Alderman O’Connor Host I-Cash Day with State Treasurer

DES PLAINES - State Rep. Marty Moylan (D-Des Plaines) hosted an I-Cash Day with the 41st Ward Alderman Mary O'Connor and the Illinois State Treasurer's Office at the Pavilion apartment complex in Chicago on Tuesday that gave local residents a chance to find unclaimed financial property.

"I have hosted a few of these events with the Treasurer's Office and it keeps surprising me how many people find they have unclaimed assets," Moylan said. "I appreciate all of the residents who attended and were able to reclaim their property."

Over 30 local residents attended the I-Cash Day and worked with staff from the State Treasurer's Office to find property by searching the online I-Cash database and filling out the necessary paperwork. Residents were able to find unclaimed assets such as unpaid wages, overpayment on bills, life insurance policies, and even safety deposit box contents. Illinois residents can also check for their unclaimed assets themselves by going to and entering their names.

"This event really made searching and claiming my assets easy," said Peter Vitone from Chicago. "I would recommend others search their names. You never know what you'll find."
