Moylan Saving Residents’ Money and Preventing Fraud by Hosting Utility Bill Clinic
04/02/2015
DES PLAINES, Ill. – In an effort to help residents save money on utility bills by eliminating wasteful charges, and to teach residents how to avoid current utility bill scams, state Rep. Marty Moylan, D-Des Plaines, is partnering with the Citizens Utility Board (CUB) in hosting a Utility Bill Clinic on Thursday, April 2 at 11 a.m. The event will be held at the Sheila Ray Adult Center, located at 225 E. Elk Grove Blvd. in Elk Grove Village.“Utility bills are some of the most difficult documents to read,” Moylan said. “This clinic will teach residents how to look at their utility bills and locate some charges that they may be able to eliminate.”
CUB is a non-profit consumer group created by the General Assembly to fight for the rights of utility customers throughout Illinois.
“Scammers and con-artists are always looking for new methods to take away people’s hard earned money,” said Moylan. “In addition to hosting clinics like this, I will continue to propose and support legislation that cracks down on illegal scamming practices.”
